If reservation is not given, 25 lakh Panchamasali Lingayats will be included in the struggle: Basava Mrityunjaya Swamiji
Khadak has warned Basava Mrityunjaya Swamiji Basavaraja Bommai government that 25 lakh Panchamasali Lingayats will protest in front of Vidhana Soudha.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, he said that the struggle for reservation remains the only way for the education of the children of the Panchmasali community and employment of the youth. We have started a five-phase movement demanding inclusion of all sub-sects of Lingayat including Panchamasali, Gowda Lingayat, Malegowda, Deeksha Lingayats, 2A and Chaturtha Lingayats in the central government's OBC reservation.
Lingayat Panchmasali grand conference is going on in Hukkeri on 21st, by then the government should call a meeting of all parties and take a final decision regarding reservation of 2A for Lingayat Panchmasali. Panchamasali Mutt President Basava Mrityunjaya Swamiji has warned that if not, he will call for Vidhana Soudha siege at Hukkeri conference.
We have been continuously fighting for 2A reservation for the last 2 years. So far we have not received any response to our struggle. BSY said that the reservation will be announced by September 15. But till this time Yeddyurappa was not there. After that, we made many strong appeals to the people of Bommai. But he expressed displeasure that no response has come from the Bommai government.
We will take a decision in the Hukkeri convention regarding the massive protest in front of Vidhana Soudha. If 2A reservation is not given, 25 lakhs of Panchamasali community will stage dharna in front of Jan Vidhana Soudha. As a final struggle, we will lay siege to Vidhana Soudha. He said that the date of the fight will be announced on 21st.
He demanded that the CM should make a clear stand on whether to grant reservation or not. We are not asking to take away the reservation of other communities. Our demand is clear. There is no talk of reservation for other communities. Basava Jaya Mrityunjaya Swamiji said that he welcomes the increase in reservation for SC and ST.
